Ghanaian media personality and television host Captain Smart has launched a fierce public criticism against Evangelist Papa Shee, accusing him of spreading “falsehoods” and feigning a close relationship with the late Highlife legend Daddy Lumba following the musician’s death.
Speaking on his morning show Onua Maakye on Onua TV, Captain Smart expressed shock and anger at Papa Shee’s sudden claims of closeness to Daddy Lumba, asserting that the evangelist was never on good terms with Lumba when the musician was alive.
Allegations of Denial and Ungratefulness
Captain Smart, who revealed he used to be Daddy Lumba’s neighbor at Tantra Hills, detailed a long-standing rift, alleging that Lumba had once told him about Papa Shee’s ungratefulness and why he stopped welcoming him home.
“You, Papa Shee, you were not in talking terms with Daddy Lumba. You hated Lumba more than anyone on earth,” Captain Smart angrily said in Akan.
The host claimed to have witnessed the tension firsthand, saying Papa Shee was often denied entry to Lumba’s residence in his presence.
“Several times you came to see Lumba but you were not allowed to enter — in my presence. And today, Lumba is dead, and you are making false allegations,” he added.
Captain Smart went on to describe Papa Shee as a false man of God, emphasizing that his close relationship with the deceased compelled him to speak out against the alleged misinformation.
“Lumba told me what you did to him but I can’t say it on air. You are a very wicked and bad person. When you take me to court, I will come and say it for everyone to know. You, Papa Shee — you hated Lumba more than anyone. Now that he’s dead, you’re pretending like you loved him or were close to him,” he warned.
Papa Shee’s Controversial Statements
Captain Smart’s tirade was sparked by several recent public statements made by Evangelist Papa Shee following Daddy Lumba’s passing, including:
- Alleged Autopsy Controversy: Papa Shee claimed that a woman known as Odo Broni, described as Lumba’s partner, conducted the post-mortem examination on the musician without informing or seeking consent from the family, including Lumba’s legal wife or sister.
- Claims of Unfair Treatment: He alleged that many of Lumba’s “baby mamas” reached out to him, expressing concern about the supposed unfair treatment of Lumba’s lawful wife, Akosua Serwaa.
- Spiritual Revelation: Papa Shee also claimed to have received a revelation from God days before Lumba’s death, saying he “saw that something was going to happen” and had been praying for him prior to the incident.
Captain Smart concluded by challenging Papa Shee to respond to his claims, warning he is ready to face him publicly if the evangelist does so.
