Ghana’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has revealed that all is now set for Ghanaian nurses to work in the small Caribbean island nation of Grenada.Â
He made this known in a post on his official Facebook page following a meeting between Ghana’s President, John Dramani Mahama, and Grenada Prime Minister, Dickon Mitchell, at the Jubilee House in Accra on Friday, October 17, 2025.

According to him, “20 more labour mobility agreements with other countries are currently under negotiations.”

Ablakwa added that “We are also holding strategic talks to establish the first ever direct flight between Africa and the Caribbean.”

Welcome home, Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell of Grenada.
As African Union Champion for Reparations, President Mahama shall continue to bridge the artificial African-Caribbean divide caused by the trans-Atlantic slave trade.
Some fascinating anecdotes:
1) Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell announced that his DNA tracing prove he has Ghanaian ancestry;
2) It is now confirmed that 75% of the people of Grenada have ancestral links to Ghana;
3) Both ruling parties in Ghana and Grenada are known as the National Democratic Congress (NDC);
4) The two NDCs secured two-third majorities in the last round of parliamentary elections;
5) Both the NDC in Ghana and the NDC in Grenada returned to power with landslide victories after losing two previous elections.
