Century Aviation Ltd, a 100% Ghanaian-owned aviation company, has achieved a new milestone in the country’s transportation sector with a successful demonstration flight to Ho Airport in the Volta Region.
The flight departed from Kotoka International Airport (KIA) on September 25, 2025, at 14:40, carrying 19 passengers aboard a Cessna SkyCourier aircraft. The journey lasted approximately 30 minutes, returning to Accra around 16:35.
Plans for Air Taxi Service
The demonstration flight was a key collaboration between Century Aviation and Africair, the authorized Africa representatives of Textron Aviation (the aircraft manufacturer). The partnership, which has been active for four years, aims to introduce a reliable and efficient air taxi service across Ghana.
Century Aviation plans to use this service to provide scheduled passenger and cargo flights across underserved markets, while also expanding its charter services for high-demand sectors like multinational, oil and gas, and mining companies.
Mrs. Essie Anno Sackey, Managing Director of Century Aviation, praised the aircraft’s versatility:
“We are particularly impressed with two things – one is that you can easily reconfigure the internal space for passengers or cargo, depending on the flight requirements. The other thing is that the SkyCourier can land and take off on various runway surfaces, allowing us to service underserved destinations in Ghana and West Africa, as we are planning.”
