A previous Florida caregiver, discovered in an intimate act with her stepson by her spouse in 2024, has been imprisoned.
She received a two-year prison term on Tuesday for engaging in intimacy with the 15-year-old.
Alexis Von Yates was directed to complete 24 months in state prison, then two years of community control and 10 years of probation while listed as a registered intimacy offender, per court documents reviewed by The Post.
The 35-year-old former medical staff member kept a neutral expression as Florida Fifth Judicial Circuit Court Judge Timothy McCourt delivered the penalty, based on footage from Court TV.
Von Yates had applied cosmetics to her face and wore a black turtleneck during her sentencing to incarceration.
Von Yates initially faced accusations of intimacy battery by an individual in a family role, but the negotiated agreement reduced it to inappropriate and indecent battery on a minor aged 12 to 16, as per the court documents.
Von Yates entered a no-contest plea to the accusation on August 21.
She must fulfill 200 hours of community service and cover fines along with court costs.
The initial intimacy battery accusation, classified as a first-degree felony, includes a potential penalty of up to life in prison plus a $10,000 penalty.
McCourt approved the negotiated agreement following discussions with the now-16-year-old victim and his mother, both of whom were “one-hundred percent in agreement with the sentencing,” according to the court directive.
Von Yates was discovered by her husband, Frank, involved in intimate behavior with his adolescent son during a horror film viewing on July 26, 2024.
Frank, employed as a lineman, had worked the evening shift before arriving back at his Ocala, Florida, residence to find the late-night encounter.
The adolescent boy, startled by his father, dashed from the living room to the bathroom with his trousers down around his legs, while the entirely unclothed Von Yates concealed herself beneath a blanket.
Von Yates reportedly stated to the boy that she felt “aroused” due to lacking “intimacy in two weeks and she was on her period.”
She asserted that her stepson evoked memories of her husband in his youth, but had instructed the boy to cease after they started kissing and performing oral intimacy.
“The child victim informed his father this was false, stating she was vocalizing pleasure toward him and urged him to continue.”
