Kenya Moves To Understudy Morocco’s Expertise In Digital Forensics

East African nation, Kenya, has expressed interest in understudying Morocco’s expertise in the area of digital forensics.

Kenya is also seeking to tap into Morocco’s expertise in the fight against transnational organised crime.

The Attorney General of Kenya, Renson Ingonga, who made this known in Nairobi on Thursday, August 7, 2025, says his country aims to build on Morocco’s know-how to strengthen its capabilities in combating cybercrime.

Mr. Ingonga was speaking during a meeting with the Moroccan ambassador to Kenya and South Sudan, Abderrazzak Laassel.

He lauded Rabat’s advances in digital forensics, describing this expertise as a priority for Nairobi.

During the meeting, the talks focused on expanding bilateral cooperation to other judicial areas, including counterterrorism, anti-corruption, and financial crime. Both sides agreed to step up continuous training for prosecutors, enhance technical support, and increase exchanges of best practices.

The meeting falls within the framework of a memorandum of understanding signed in 2023 between the prosecution services of both countries, which provides for greater cooperation on judicial reforms, capacity building, and joint efforts against transnational organised crime.

The partnership, described as “mutually beneficial,” is expected to strengthen security and judicial cooperation between Nairobi and Rabat in a regional context marked by rising digital and economic threats.
