Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Denied Bail Again, Awaits Sentencing in October 2025

On August 4, 2025, U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian denied Sean “Diddy” Combs’ latest bail request, ordering the music mogul to remain at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn until his sentencing on October 3, 2025, for two Mann Act convictions related to transporting individuals for prostitution. This marks the second time Combs’ bail has been rejected since his July 2, 2025, conviction, following a seven-week trial where he was acquitted of more serious racketeering and sex trafficking charges.

Combs’ legal team, led by Marc Agnifilo, proposed a $50 million bond, house arrest at his Miami estate, and restricted travel between Florida and New York, arguing his case—centered on allegedly hiring male sex workers for consensual acts with his girlfriend—lacked precedent for pre-sentencing detention. Subramanian, however, sided with prosecutors, who cited Combs’ history of violence, including a June 2024 assault on an ex-girlfriend (“Jane”) during an active investigation, and his wealth as evidence of flight risk and community danger. The judge stated, “Even if the flight-or-danger requirement was satisfied, there are no ‘exceptional reasons’ warranting a departure from what Congress has required.”

Prosecutors, led by Maurene Comey, are seeking a 51-to-63-month sentence, while Combs’ team argues for 21-to-27 months, with credit for time served since his September 2024 arrest. The Mann Act charges carry a maximum of 10 years each, though sentencing guidelines suggest a shorter term.

Speculation about a potential presidential pardon from Donald Trump has emerged, with TMZ reporting Trump’s team is “more than open” to the idea, especially after the bail denial, though no concrete steps have been confirmed. Posts on X reflect divided sentiment, with some alleging Combs’ camp is offering “large sums” to Trump administration officials, while others, like attorney Tony Buzbee, representing Combs’ civil accusers, argue survivors may also seek Trump’s intervention. These claims remain unverified.

Combs, 55, faces over 66 civil lawsuits alleging sexual misconduct spanning decades, which could influence his sentencing and public perception. For now, he remains detained, with a remote hearing scheduled for August 5, 2025, to discuss expedited sentencing. The outcome of his sentencing and any potential political intervention will shape the next chapter for the Bad Boy Records founder.
