Ghanaian ECOMIG Continent Donates Educational and Health Supplies To Gambian School

The Ghanaian contingent GHANCOY 9, deployed as part of the ECOWAS mission in Gambia (ECOMIG) has organized a humanitarian operation at the Farafenni High School, 115 km from Barra in The Gambia.

On July 31, 2025, GHANCOY 9, led by Lieutenant Colonel Ronne Yaw Agbemafle, the contingent donated school supplies and sanitary pads, with a particular focus on supporting girls’ education.

An information session on menstrual hygiene was led by Captain Victoria Yayira Galley to raise awareness among students and reduce taboos.

The school, through its principal, praised the gesture as useful and impactful. This initiative is part of ECOMIG’s efforts to strengthen peace and social cohesion through community engagement.
