FIFA Bans Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson for Two Club World Cup Matches

The body governing football in the world, FIFA, has issued a two-match ban to Chelsea’s forward player, Nicolas Jackson, for the next two games at the ongoing Club World Cup.

Nicolas Jackson was initially supposed to miss one game, which was to be the match against ES Tunis. This red card will give Liam Delap the chance to show that he can lead the line in the Premier League for the Blues.

The rules say the standard punishment for a red card at this tournament in the United States is a one-match suspension. However, FIFA reserves the right to increase or decrease the length of the match ban.

The Senegalese will miss Chelsea’s final group game with ES Tunis in Philadelphia on Tuesday, and then their last-16 tie with Bayern Munich or Benfica in Charlotte.

Jackson apologised publicly and privately afterwards, having been dismissed only four minutes after coming on as a substitute.
