Kenyan TikToker and entrepreneur Rish Kamunge has been arrested on allegations of running a fraudulent overseas job agency. The arrest came after victims of the job scam stormed her office and dragged her to the police station on March 26, 2025.
Kamunge, a popular content creator and gospel singer, had built her brand on social media by sharing travel content, business tips, and overseas job opportunities. However, her agency, Trust Pin Verified Agency Ltd, has been accused of promising Kenyan job seekers opportunities abroad, particularly in Mauritius, in exchange for Ksh 200,000, only to fail to deliver.
Victims have come forward claiming that they paid for job placements that did not exist. The situation escalated when frustrated victims stormed her office, leading to her arrest. Nairobi Central Sub-County Commander Stephen Okal has urged victims to come forward as the investigation continues.
Kamunge’s lawyer has stated that she is willing to refund those who paid and did not secure jobs, attributing the situation to a “misrepresentation” by the agency. The incident has raised concerns about the authenticity of online business opportunities and the importance of verifying claims before making payments.
