4 Men Arrested In Zimbabwe For Armed Robbery

Four Zimbabwean men allegedly behind a series of violent robberies in Mhangura, Shamva, and Murewa in Zimbabwe have been arrested by police.

The suspects: Charles Dhokotera (age 42), Mayor Sibanda (age 34), Bothwell Kamwendo (age 40), and Trivolta Donald Matunhu (age 20) were taken into custody after their attempted escape from a robbery incident at Nyamuzara Business Centre in Murewa was thwarted by civilians and police.

They were dressed in camouflage and police uniforms and armed with three rifles, a pistol and baton sticks.

The suspects allegedly attacked a merchant and his family as well as bar patrons before fleeing with seven cellphones and $1,300 in cash.

Civilians who were at the scene, went to the rescue of the victims and blocked the robbers’ car, a white Toyota with registration number AGC 2677.
