At least three resident of Alajo, a suburb of Accra died from electrocution on Monday after torrential rains flooded the community.
Reports say they were trying to retrieve their belongings from the floodwaters when they met their untimely deaths.
The victims are to be in their mid-twenties to early thirties.
According to residents of Alajo, the flooding left many households stranded, forcing some occupants to walk through the water in an attempt to salvage personal belongings before the electrocution happened.
Several parts of Accra were flooded during the Monday, June 29, 2026 downpours.
