The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has confirmed its readiness to administer the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
This is despite the Ghanaian government’s outstanding debts to WAEC.
The BECE for 2024 is scheduled from Monday, July 8 to July 15, and will be conducted across all examination centres in the country.
Despite apprehension expressed by stakeholders about the Council’s ability to conduct the 2024 BECE due to the unpaid debt, WAEC reassured during a press conference in Accra on Friday that it is prepared to administer examinations for 569,095 candidates from 19,506 schools.
