US President, Donald Trump, arrived in Beijing, China’s capital, on Wednesday, May 13, 2026
for a two-day high-stakes talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Both leaders are expected to discuss trade and bilateral relations between US and China as well as Taiwan and potentially the conflict in Iran.

Trump visited China in 2017 during his first Presidency and it is the first time in nine years that a US President is visiting China.
Upon his arrival in Beijing on Wednesday, President Trump was received by Chinese Vice President Han Zheng, received a full military guard of honor and was warmly welcomed by 300 Chinese students.
Trump and Jinping are expected to discuss a wide range of topics of global concerns, including trade, Taiwan, and the war in Iran.
Some US officials who accompanied President Trump on the trip include Marco Rubio, secretary of state; Pete Hegseth, defence secretary; and Scott Bessent, treasury secretary.
There are also a dozen high-profile business leaders, including Apple’s Tim Cook, Tesla chief executive officer (CEO) Elon Musk, Boeing’s Kelly Ortberg, and Nvidia’s Jensen Huang.
