Rema wins double at 2024 ASCAP London Music Awards

Afrobeats singer Rema has won awards at the 2024 ASCAP London Music Awards with his hit song, ‘Calm Down’.

While dazzling at Louis Vuitton’s Men’s Spring-Summer Show in Paris, his hit song “Calm Down” was scooping up awards at the London Music Awards.

The song won Song of the Year and Top Streaming Song with co-writers and co-producers Michael Hunter (London) and Andre Vibez also receiving accolades.

This brings Rema’s ASCAP awards total to three, the most for any Nigerian/African artist.

He’s also the most awarded African artist of 2024, with six wins under his belt.

“Calm Down” has made history as the first Afrobeats song to surpass 1 billion streams in the US.
