Nigeria: NDLEA Seizes 184.5kg of Cocaine from Courier Company, Arrests Two

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) of Nigeria has intercepted 184.5 kilogrammes of cocaine concealed in a consignment handled by a courier company, describing it as the largest cocaine seizure ever recorded from a courier firm by the agency.

Two suspects, identified as socialite Afolabi Kazeem Michael, popularly known as KC Luxury, and Lawal Kehinde, an employee of a logistics company, have been arrested in connection with the consignment.

Speaking at a press briefing in Lagos on Tuesday, NDLEA Chairman Buba Marwa said investigations into the seized shipment led operatives to the two suspects.

According to Marwa, the cocaine was valued at about $27.7 million, although the naira equivalent cited by the agency was approximately N39 million.

He said following the interception, the NDLEA engaged the management of the logistics company in its investigation, which subsequently resulted in the identification and arrest of Michael and Kehinde.

The agency said investigations into the case are ongoing as it works to establish the full network behind the consignment.
