Johannesburg, South Africa – Legendary rock band Green Day is set to make history with their first performance in South Africa as they headline Calabash 2025. Scheduled for Sunday, January 19, at the FNB Stadium in Nasrec, the event promises an unforgettable night of music.
Presented by Big Concerts in partnership with Kfm 94.5 and #947, the lineup also features fellow punk rock icons The Offspring and beloved South African band Fokofpolisiekar as supporting acts.
Green Day, comprising Billie Joe Armstrong (vocals and guitar), Mike Dirnt (bass and vocals), and Tré Cool (drums), brings a three-decade legacy and five Grammy Awards to the stage. Known for hits like “Basket Case”, “American Idiot”, and their breakout album “Dookie”, the band has played a pivotal role in reviving punk rock in mainstream culture since the 1990s.
Despite British pop star Robbie Williams withdrawing from the event to perform in Pretoria, Calabash 2025 organizers assure fans of a spectacular show. Last year’s event, headlined by Maroon 5, set the stage for what is now dubbed South Africa’s “biggest summer concert.”
Tickets for the event range from R575 to R6,250 and are available via Ticketmaster.
