A view of the new kitchen in which Empress Gifty will be holding her ‘U Cook’ show
A popular Ghanaian gospel singer, Gifty Adorye, known in showbiz as Empress Gifty, has unveiled her new cooking show on one of Ghana’s popular television stations.
The show dubbed: ‘U Cook’ will broadcast United Television (UTV) but its schedule is yet to be announced.
Empress Gifty is a highly popular figure in the Ghanaian entertainment industry, having won the Ghana Music Awards coveted Artiste of The Year award in 2012. Her popularity will surely draw more viewers to the Twi-speaking Accra-based television station owned by one of Ghana’s richest businessmen, Osei Kwame Despite under his Despite Media Conglomerate of which popular radio station, PeaceFM as well as OkayFM and HelloFM are members.
The launch of the cooking at the studios of UTV on Monday, May 27, 2024, was graced by several distinguished personalities including the General Manager of the Despite Media Group, Kennedy Osei and renowned Ghanaian man of God, Prophet Kumchacha who is the founder of Accra-based Heaven’s Gate Ministries.
Photos and videos shared on social media from the launch showed a neatly designed kitchen loaded with different varieties of foodstuffs, cooking utensils, plates, bowls and beverages.
