High Lady Beautician School, located in Goaso, the Ahafo Regional Capital of Ghana, has opened admissions for young ladies interested in acquiring practical entrepreneurship skills in the beauty industry.
The school is offering training in areas including hair braiding, wig making, weave-on, make-up and other beauty-related skills to equip young women with the knowledge and practical experience needed to establish their own businesses.
Speaking in an interview, the founder of High Lady Beautician School, Ms Dorothy Bonsu, said the initiative was established as part of her contribution towards addressing youth unemployment and helping young people become self-reliant.
According to her, the increasing number of young people looking for jobs makes it important for individuals and private organisations to complement the government’s efforts by creating opportunities for skills development.
“We cannot rely on the government for everything. That is why I came up with the High Lady Beautician School to help, nurture and teach those interested in the beautician sector,” she said.
Ms Bonsu explained that her main objective is to give young ladies practical skills that can enable them to start their own businesses and create employment opportunities for themselves and others.
She noted that learning a trade could provide young people with an alternative path to earning a living, particularly at a time when many young people are struggling to secure formal employment.
She said the school would continue to welcome young ladies who have a genuine interest in the beauty industry and are willing to learn and work hard to build a career for themselves.
Ms Bonsu further stressed that when more young people acquire employable skills and become self-sufficient, it could also help reduce the pressure on the government to provide jobs for everyone.
“At the end of the day, the government will get some relief so it can also focus on other areas of development, including roads and other important infrastructure,” she added.
She encouraged young ladies who have a passion for beauty and entrepreneurship to take advantage of the opportunity and acquire the necessary skills to build sustainable businesses.
High Lady Beautician School is therefore inviting interested ladies to enrol and begin their journey towards acquiring practical skills in the beauty and personal care industry.
