The Majority Leader in Parliament and Member of Parliament for Builsa North, James Agalga, has appealed to members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to maintain peace and unity as the party prepares to hold its constituency elections on Saturday, October 24.
In a statement ahead of the polls, Mr Agalga urged party members and candidates to be circumspect in their utterances, engagements and conduct as campaigns draw to a close.
He called on the aspirants and their supporters to avoid insults and character assassination, stressing the need for the elections to be conducted in an atmosphere of love, unity and mutual respect.
“Let us conduct these elections in unity, love and peace, devoid of insults and character assassination,” he said.
Mr Agalga noted that all party members had a shared responsibility to protect the NDC’s future, cautioning against actions that could undermine the party’s broader political ambitions.
“We all have a stake in the 2028 journey. Let us not undermine that future in our quest to serve the Party today,” he added.
He expressed hope that the constituency elections would strengthen the party and foster greater cohesion among its members, wishing all candidates the best of luck.
“May the best candidates win, and may the NDC emerge stronger and more united after these elections,” he said.
