Ecobank Ghana Launches Retirees Association to Foster Community and Continued Engagement

Accra, Ghana – Ecobank Ghana has officially launched the Ecobank Retirees Association (ERA) at a ceremony in Accra. The event brought together former employees, senior executives, and guests to celebrate the initiative, which aims to create a vibrant community for retirees while leveraging their experience to benefit the bank and society.

Lady Bishop Patricia Sappor, President of the ERA, highlighted the retirees’ contributions to Ecobank’s legacy and expressed optimism for the association’s future. Mrs. Abena Osei-Poku, Managing Director of Ecobank Ghana, commended the ERA as a testament to the bank’s commitment to its employees, even after retirement.

Former Managing Directors, including Mr. Albert Essien, Mr. Sam Ashitey Adjei (current Board Chairman), and Mr. Daniel Sackey, expressed their support for the association. Mr. Essien emphasized the importance of maintaining strong bonds with former employees, while Mr. Adjei saw the ERA as a platform for continued collaboration and impact.

The ERA has already made significant strides, including adopting a constitution, onboarding over 80 members, and initiating discussions on medical support. Plans are underway to strengthen partnerships with Ecobank Ghana through mentorship, training, and other programs.

The launch of the ERA marks a significant step in recognizing and celebrating the contributions of Ecobank Ghana’s retirees, ensuring they remain an integral part of the Ecobank family.
