Ghanaian king (Asantehene), Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has arrived in Toronto, Canada, to attend the “Beyond the World Cup” event.
The event is being organised by the Canada-Ghana Chamber of Commerce.
Upon his arrival, the Asantehene was received by the Canadian High Commissioner to Ghana, Myriam Montrat as well as Ghana’s High Commissioner to Canada, Dora Francisca Edu-Buandoh, and her Deputy, Thomas Oppong-Peprah.
The Manhyia Palace said in a statement on Facebook that “The visit underscores the growing ties between Ghana and Canada and highlights the importance of strengthening economic, cultural, and international partnerships through initiatives such as the Beyond the World Cup forum.”
While in Canada, Otumfuo is expected to attend the Ghana Black Stars’ World Cup opener against Panama on Wednesday, June 17.
