French football superstar, Kylian Mbappe, won his last major trophy, the Coupe de France, with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) as he exits the club.
Mbappe is leaving PSG and will begin the next chapter of his club career in the next season even though he is yet to officially announce which club he’s joining.
O. Dembele and F. Ruiz scored in the Coupe de France final on Sunday to give PSG and indeed Mbappe a sweet 2 – 1 win over Olympique Lyonnais.
It was complete joy for Mbappe as he lifted his last trophy with PGS and say his final goodbye to the club’s fans in France and around the world.
Mbappe – who has enjoyed an illustrious footballing career so far – brought an end to his stay with French giants, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) at the end of the 2023/2024 season.
Mbappe, the 25-year-old 2018 World Cup winner with France, announced his departure from PSG in a video posted on social media.
Addressing PSG officials, fans, his teammates in the video message, Mbappe said “I want to say thank you because without you all, I would have never experienced half of the emotions I felt. And just for that, I am grateful for life. Thank you all. I hope we will finish this year with a last trophy.”
Mbappe joined PSG as a 17-year-old in 2017 from AS Monaco.
Over the course of seven years, Mbappe was successful in becoming PSG all-time leading scorer, leading the Ligue 1 club to six league titles.
Mbappe played his final Ligue 1 game at the Parc des Princes on Sunday, May 12, when PSG play host to Toulouse.
Mbappe in his video message did not announce where he was going next in his club career.
But renowned Italian sports journalists, Fabrizio Romano, wrote on Instagram that Mbappe will be joining Spanish Champions, Real Madrid. His mother also recently gave hints that he will be joining Madrid.
