South Africa and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) have bid a final farewell to Bafana Bafana midfielder Jayden Adams, who was laid to rest in Stellenbosch following a private funeral service.
Before the burial, hundreds of mourners gathered for a public memorial to celebrate the life of the 25-year-old footballer. Family members, close friends, teammates, football administrators, supporters, and distinguished guests, including CAF President Patrice Motsepe, attended the emotional tribute.
Adams’ death on Saturday, July 11, 2026, sent shockwaves across the football world, coming only days after he played a key role in helping Bafana Bafana reach the knockout stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup for the first time in the nation’s history.
