The Volta Regional Police Command of the Ghana Police Service has arrested a Nigerian man for allegedly trafficking suspected cocaine and Indian hemp to Ghana on the Accra-Aflao.
According to the Police Service in a statement, police personnel intercepted a black Liberty Jeep with registration number FK692KF near Kpotame near Sogakope.
The statement indicated that the driver, identified as Charles Adenkule, a 46-year-old Nigerian national, was arrested and was assisting with investigations.

It says a search conducted on the vehicle led to the recovery of 10 parcels of compressed substances suspected to be cocaine, each weighing approximately one kilogram, noting that “The estimated street value of the seized substances is Ghc 1,032,650.00.”
The statement indicated “in addition, about half a kilogram of compressed dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp was found concealed behind the inner lining of the vehicle’s boot.”
