Waha Oil Company, a subsidiary of Libya’s state-owned National Oil Corporation (NOC), announced on Sunday that it has successfully brought two new gas wells into operation at its Farigh field.
According to a company statement, the newly commissioned wells are producing 14 million and 12 million cubic feet of natural gas per day, respectively. Waha Oil described the development as a key step in meeting Libya’s growing domestic demand for natural gas.
The Farigh field is operated as a joint venture with international partners TotalEnergies and ConocoPhillips, highlighting the ongoing collaboration between Libya and global energy companies to enhance production capacity.
Waha Oil emphasized that the additional output will support local energy supply and contribute to the stability of natural gas availability for power generation and industrial use across the country.
The company said it remains committed to further exploration and development projects to expand Libya’s natural gas infrastructure and meet both domestic and regional energy needs.
