Nigeria: Labour Congress Members Protest Over Insecurity

Several members of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) have hit the streets of Lagos and Abuja in protest against insecurity across Nigeria.

The protest on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, came after a meeting between President Bola Tinubu and labour leaders on Tuesday night.

On Wednesday, the Labour Congress members converged at the Ikeja underbridge in Ikeja, Lagos state capital, for the protest.

The NLC members moved from the Ikeja underbridge to the Lagos house of assembly. They chanted solidarity songs as the protested.

In Abuja, the NLC members converged at the Labour House to protest against the “degenerating security situation” across the country.

Members of Joint Health Sector Unions, Nigerian Union of Teachers, National Union of Electricity Employees also joined the protest.
