Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly set to open a private club named Vega in Madrid, signaling his strategic plans for investment beyond his illustrious football career.
The former world heavyweight champion, 40, whose star-studded career involved winning multiple team trophies and individual accolades at clubs like Real Madrid and Manchester United, is nearing the conclusion of his football days and looks ready for his next major business venture.
Investment and Vision
Libertad Digital reports that Íñigo Onieva and Mabel Hospitality—the firm co-owned by Manuel Campos Guallar and Ronaldo—are ready to launch the exclusive Private Members’ Club in the heart of Spain’s capital city.
The club is aiming to create “an elegant and inviting atmosphere where luxury is more of a feeling than a mere decoration.” The space will offer a quiet and sophisticated environment during the mornings, transforming into a social hub with exclusive dinners and bars at night.
Membership Costs
Membership to the club comes with a high price tag, underscoring its exclusivity:
- Founders’ Membership: Available by invitation only, costing a one-off fee of £13,000 (approximately $16,500 USD). This offers lifetime access and priority bookings.
- Local Membership: Costs just over £2,000 per year, plus an initial payment of £1,750.
- Under 35s: Benefit from cheaper fees, standing at £1,300 per year with a registration fee of nearly £900.
- Couples: Can benefit from an annual payment of £1,750.
The move confirms that business off the pitch appears to be booming for Ronaldo, just like his career on the pitch. He still continues to be prolific at 40 in the Saudi Pro League with Al-Nassr as he prepares for a final attempt at the World Cup.
