At least 315 students and teachers are confirmed to have been abducted from a Catholic school in the Niger State of Nigeria.
The Niger State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) confirmed the number of students and teachers abducted.
According to CAN, those abducted include 303 students and 12 teachers.
The students and teachers were abducted from St. Mary’s Catholic Primary and Secondary School in Papiri, Agwara LGA.
Armed bandits are alleged to have carried out the attack around 2:00 a.m. on November 21, 2025.
Initially, CAN said the abductees were 227, among them “215 pupils and students, including 12 teachers.”
But in a new statement released today, Saturday, November 22, 2025, and signed by Bulus Yohanna, CAN Chairman and Catholic Bishop of Kontagora Diocese, the Association said a verification exercise and final census indicated the number of missing persons stood at 315 instead of 277.
