Former Ghana international footballer, Sulley Muntari, has not been arrested in Dubai contrary to media reports, Sammy Anim Addo, the manager of former Black Stars striker, Asamoah Gyan, has said.

Reports had suggested Muntari, a former AC Milan and Inter Milan player had been arrested in Dubai.

But in a statement released on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 through his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Anim Addo said “Sulley Muntari is safe and currently residing in Dubai, where he is focused on his personal affairs and business activities.”

He added that “We urge the public to disregard the false reports circulating in the media. The outlets responsible for these publications are hereby warned to retract their statements and issue an apology. Failure to do so will result in legal action by Sulley Lawyers.”
