Ghana: Government Will Invest In Komenda Education Fund – Says Prof. Naana

The Vice President of Ghana, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyeman, has assured that the President John Dramani Mahama’s government would invest in a new educational fund that has been set up for children within the Komenda Traditional Area in the Central Region.

She made the pledge while speaking as a special guest of honour at the 2025 Nyeyi Festival held on Saturday, September 13.

The fund was set up to support the educational needs of students in the area.

The Vice President said the Government would invest in the fund as its contribution towards building a positive future for the youth of Komenda through education.

Meanwhile, in recognition of her contributions to education, especially among children in the Komenda Traditional Area, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang was honoured with the title ‘Owoabrempong Kru-Kow I’ by the Komenda Traditional Council.

Away from education, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang also assured that the government was committed to addressing other key developmental challenges within the Komenda Traditional Area.

According to her, government will address the concerns so far raised about the Komenda Sugar Factory which has not been operating for awhile.
