Creative Arts Federation Secretary General Resigns

Dr. Lilian Sally Addo, a well-known creative arts advocate and co-founder of the Creative Arts Federation of Ghana, has officially resigned from her position as Secretary General. She cited the “personalization” of the organization into what she believes is a private entity as her reason for leaving.

In a public statement, Dr. Addo expressed her disappointment with the federation’s current management, alleging that its fundamental mission and vision have been “flagrantly disregarded.” She accused a small group of people of taking over the decision-making process, excluding other board members, and ignoring established procedures.

“Three individuals simply registered the organization without notifying other board members and are making decisions outside of my office, personalizing the organization as if it were their private property,” she said.

Despite co-founding the federation and originally supporting its goals, Dr. Addo stated she could no longer be a part of an organization that she feels has moved away from its founding principles. “I was excited about the federation’s ideals. Since a few members have taken charge and silenced everyone else, I might as well depart peacefully,” she added.

Dr. Addo is a highly respected figure in Ghana’s creative arts community, with almost two decades of experience advocating for the industry. She currently holds the position of President of the Creative Arts College of Ghana and is the Supreme Board Chair of the Models Union of Ghana. She is also a member of MUSIGA and the Ghana Cultural Forum, and has managed artists, cultural bands, models, and other creative talents throughout her career.

An alumna of the well-regarded Full Sail University in Florida, USA, she holds degrees in Entertainment Business Management and other creative fields. Her extensive knowledge has earned her positions on several boards within the sector.

While resigning from the Creative Arts Federation of Ghana, Dr. Addo reaffirmed her commitment to advancing the creative industry, noting that she remains open to serving on other platforms that are in line with her vision for the sector’s growth.
