The Ghana National Theatre came alive on Saturday night as young Muslim women showcased their intellect, cultural pride, and aspirations at the grand finale of Miss Muslimah Ghana 2024. Organized by Cruiz House Events, this annual pageant celebrated beauty beyond appearances, bringing together community leaders, philanthropists, fashion icons, and families from across the nation.
Contestants captivated the audience with cultural displays, Quran recitations, entrepreneurship pitches, and discussions on pressing topics such as youth empowerment, women’s health, and Islamic education. The evening culminated in the crowning of 19-year-old Insiya Mohammed, representing the Bissa tribe, as Miss Muslimah Ghana 2024. Her eloquent responses and impactful community-driven project proposals impressed the judges and earned her the title.
Insiya walked away with a cash prize, gifts from sponsors, and the honor of becoming an ambassador for young Muslim women across Ghana. She was joined by first runner-up Asmau Abdul Wakil (Kotokoli tribe) and second runner-up Hamdiya Issifu (Dagomba tribe).
Over the months leading up to the event, contestants participated in leadership training, entrepreneurship workshops, and community service projects, equipping them with skills to lead and inspire. Speaking after the event, Ms. Hawa Alidu, CEO of Cruiz House Events, highlighted the importance of providing opportunity-driven platforms for young Muslim women. She announced plans for community programs spearheaded by the contestants, focusing on education, mentorship, and charity.
The night was a resounding success, thanks to the support of sponsors, judges, community leaders, and families who made the event memorable. Plans are already underway for the 2025 edition, promising even greater opportunities for participants.
For Insiya Mohammed and her fellow queens, this is just the beginning. Their journey as role models and ambassadors will take them across Ghana and beyond, inspiring young Muslim women to embrace their identity, leadership, and potential.
