Second Indonesia-Africa Summit Attracts Over 1,400 Delegates, Several Heads Of State
The second Indonesia-Africa summit has attracted over 1,400 delegrates and several Heads of state from across Africa and Asia.
The President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, Rwanda President, Paul Kagame, Liberia President, Joseph Boakai, Tanzania President, Samia Suluhu Hassan, are among the African leaders attending the summit.
Attending the forum also are government Ministers, entrepreneurs and scholars from various countries.
The forum has attracted 103 companies and 139 entrepreneurs from Africa, in addition to 350 Indonesian businesses.
Themed ‘Bandung Spirit for Africa’s Agenda 2063,’ the forum aims to enhance partnerships between Indonesia and African nations in critical areas such as energy, food security, health and minerals. The forum is taking place from Saturday, August 31 to Tuesday, September 3, 2024.
In his opening address at the forum in Bali, Indonesian President, Joko Widodo, outlined four key points in addressing the challenges the international community.
Mr. Widodo highlighted the centrality of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in global development, Indonesia’s dedication to the Global South, Indonesia-Africa partnership, and the reinvigoration of global solidarity.
