World’s Most Expensive Wedding of 2024: $600 Million Spent On Anant and Radhika 3-Day Wedding Festivities

A whopping $600 million has reportedly been spent on the three-day festivities to celebrate Indian billionaire heir, Anant Ambani’s wedding to his long-time girlfriend, Radhika Merchant.

Anant Ambani is the son of Asia’s richest man and the world’s 9th billionaire, Mukesh Ambani. Radhika is the daughter of India’s billionaire pharmaceutical businessman, Merchant.

The couple’s wedding festivities which began on Friday, July 7, 2024 following seven months of extravagant pre-wedding celebrations, is being attended by several global top celebrities, sports personalities and former world leaders.

Among the celebrity attendees are: Kim Kardashian, John Cena, Ranbir Kapoor, actress Alia Bhatt, Disha Patani, Suhana Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Nick Jonas, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Aamir Khan, Sara Ali Khan, Honey Singh, Mike Tyson, among others.

Also, Gianni Infantino, the President of World’s football governing body, FIFA, and former Indian international footballer, Sunil Chhetri, are two of the personalities from the world of sports who attended the lavash festivities.

Among Indian political figures attending the wedding festivities are Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh, Agriculture Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

The global leaders attending the wedding are: Tanzania President, Samia Suluhu Hassan, former Canadian Prime Minister, Stephen Harper, former UK Prime Ministers, Boris Johnson and Tony Blair, former US Secretary of State, John Kerry, former Swedish Prime Minister, Carl Bildt, Director General of the World Trade Organization, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, among others.

The wedding festivities are set to continue through this weekend at the Ambani’s family 27-story Mumbai residence, Antilia.

Yesterday, Saturday, July 13, a “Shubh Ashirwad” or divine blessings ceremony is being organized for the couple. Today, Sunday, a reception with an “Indian chic” dress code is expected to be held, to wrap up the festivities.

The billionaire couple’s July 5, 2024 sangeet ceremony had a concert by Justin Bieber. Tech billionaire and Facebook co-founder, Mark Zuckerberg and Karlie Kloss attended their hastakshar in March.
