A devastating incident has occurred in the Red Sea, off the Egyptian city of Hurghada, where a tourist submarine has sunk, leaving at least six people feared dead. Several others have been injured, and 29 people have been rescued.

The submarine, called Sindbad, was carrying around 40 passengers when it sank close to the harbour early on Thursday. The boat had been operating tourist trips in the Hurghada area for several years.
