Renowned Italian football journalist, Fabrizio Romano, has confirmed that Chelsea will be signing Enzo Maresca as their new coach.
According to him, the Blues will sign Enzo from Leicester City this week.
He wrote Instagram “Enzo Maresca will sign in as new Chelsea manager this week, all done.”
Enzo’s contract at Chelsea is expected to last until June 2029.
The contract reportedly includes an option to extend the agreement until 2030.
“Maresca and his staff will sign in the next few hours while Chelsea will pay €10 million compensation fee to Leicester,” says Fabrizio Romano.
Who is Enzo Maresca?
Enzo is an Italian football coach born February 10, 1980 (age 44).
He has held a number of managerial roles at the club level, with his current position being head coach of English club, Leicester City whom he guided successfully from Championship to Premier League.
Between 2022 and 2023, he served as assistant coach at Manchester City.
Prior to the Manchester City job, Enzo had served as coach for Italian side, Parma Calcio 1913 in 2021.
Between 2016 and 2017, he coached Verona in the Italian Serie B.
