Mahama Directs Finance Minister to Allocate GH¢1bn for Ghana’s National Housing Fund in 2027 Budget

President John Dramani Mahama has directed the Minister of Finance to allocate GH¢1 billion in the 2027 Budget as the Ghanaian government’s contribution to a GH¢3 billion revolving National Housing Fund.

Speaking at the maiden National Conference on Housing Finance in Accra, President Mahama said the fund will support affordable housing projects and expand access to housing finance for Ghanaians.

He also announced the proposed Easy Rent programme, which will enable workers to access rent advances and repay them monthly, while calling for innovative financing solutions to help complete unfinished houses across the country.

“Every family deserves the security of a decent home. That ambition must guide our policies, shape our investments, and drive our work.”
