A Chadian woman wanted in connection with the murder of Nazik Mahamat Saleh has been arrested in Kano State and repatriated to Chad by the Nigeria Police Force.
Mahadijiria Abdoulaye, a Chadian national, was apprehended by operatives of the INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB), Abuja, after she allegedly fled to Nigeria following the killing of Saleh, who was reportedly tortured and killed on May 3, 2026.
Authorities in Chad had issued an international warrant for Abdoulaye’s arrest, alongside her alleged accomplice, Fatime Senoussi Mouktar. The warrant was issued by the Court of Appeal in N’Djamena on June 22, 2026.
According to the Nigeria Police Force spokesperson, CSP Ani Iniedu, Abdoulaye was also allegedly involved in narcotics trafficking activities in Chad.
Iniedu said intelligence-led operations by INTERPOL NCB Abuja led to the suspect’s arrest on August 5, 2026, at Railway Quarters in the Nasarawa Local Government Area of Kano State.
“On 14th August, 2026, the suspect was successfully repatriated to N’Djamena, Chad, through Lomé, Togo, under established bilateral Police cooperation arrangements. The operation was conducted by INTERPOL NCB Abuja in close collaboration with INTERPOL NCB N’Djamena to facilitate her return to Chad to face the judicial process,” he said.
Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, praised the INTERPOL NCB Abuja team for what he described as its professionalism, diligence and effective collaboration with law enforcement authorities in Chad.
Disu said the successful operation demonstrated the Nigeria Police Force’s determination to prevent suspects wanted for serious offences from escaping justice by crossing international borders.
Abdoulaye has since been returned to Chad, where she is expected to face the judicial process over the allegations against her.
