Anthony Adeniyi Adeosun, the husband of Kemi Adeosun, a former Finance Minister of Nigeria, has died.
Adeniyi, fondly called Niyi, died in Lagos on Wednesday aged 62.
A statement signed by C. A. Adeosun, for and on behalf of the family announced Mr. Adeosun’s death.
According to the statement, Niyi is survived by his wife; children; and siblings, including Adewale Adeosun, founder of Kuramo Capital.
The statement added that the Christian burial arrangements for Niyi will be announced in due course.
“Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in the assurance of God’s Word: ‘Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord… that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them’ (Revelation 14:13),” the statement reads, adding that “The family requests privacy during this difficult period as we grieve our irreplaceable loss. Details of the funeral and Christian burial arrangements will be communicated in due course.”
“We thank all who have reached out with prayers, condolences, and support.”
His wife was minister of finance under the late President Muhammadu Buhari, from 2015 to 2018.
