President John Dramani Mahama has directed a temporary reduction of GHS2.00 per litre in the regulatory margin on diesel sale across Ghana for one month, effective Tuesday, August 4, 2026.
In a statement issued by the Presidency on Monday, August 3, 2026, the intervention is aimed at cushioning consumers, preventing transport fare hikes, easing inflationary pressures, and reducing the impact of rising fuel prices on the cost of living.
Government says it will continue to closely monitor developments in the international energy market and implement additional measures where necessary to protect the interests of Ghanaians and sustain economic recovery.
