Police in Philippines announced on Monday that at least three persons were shot dead and five others were wounded in a school shooting incident in the central Philippines.
According to police, two suspected were arrested following the deadly shooting at the San Jose National High School located in the city of Tacloban in Leyte province.
The Tacloban City Police Office says the shooting happened at approximately 9:00 a.m. inside the school in Barangay San Jose.
Police said an investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances behind the incident.
Tacloban police chief, Noelito Getigan, told journalists that the suspects used a 38-caliber and 9mm firearm in the shooting.
Police said one suspect, a minor and Grade 9 student, was arrested shortly after the shooting. Another suspect later surrendered to police, says Getigan.
Police say those wounded have been taken to a health facility for medical treatment.
