The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has started a nationwide checks to ensure vehicle fire extinguisher compliance.
According to GNFS in a statement, the exercise begins from Thursday, December 18, 2025.
It says the exercise seeks to ensure that all vehicles on the roads in Ghana are equipped with functional and easily accessible fire extinguishers.
The statement indicated that the compliance operation is aimed at enforcing the requirement for drivers and vehicle owners to carry at least one GNFS-certified or embossed fire extinguisher in their vehicles.
It says the GNFS taskforce will conduct on-the-spot fire safety checks on vehicles.
