Everton Completes Loan Signing of Jack Grealish from Manchester City

Everton Football Club has officially announced the loan signing of England international Jack Grealish from Manchester City. The deal, confirmed on the Toffees’ website on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, includes an option to buy the player at the end of the 2025/26 season.

Grealish confirmed that he spoke to Everton legend Wayne Rooney before making the move. He expressed his excitement about joining the club, stating, “As soon as I spoke to the manager, I knew there was only one place that I wanted to go.” He also thanked the fans for their overwhelming support on social media, adding that he hopes to “repay” their love.

The transfer is seen as a strategic move by both clubs. Everton boss David Moyes has long admired Grealish’s talent, and City recognized the player’s need for consistent Premier League football, especially in a World Cup year. Grealish had fallen out of favor with Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola, starting only one Premier League match last season and remaining on the bench for the FA Cup final.

Grealish was a key member of City’s treble-winning team in 2023, contributing to their success in the Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup. He will wear the number 18 jersey for Everton, the same number famously worn by Wayne Rooney during his time at the club.
