The Government of Grenada and the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) have signed a historic agreement to host the fourth AfriCaribbean Trade and Investment Forum.
The highly anticipated event is scheduled to take place on July 10-11, 2025, in St. George, Grenada.
The signing ceremony, which coincided with Grenada’s 51st Independence Day, was attended by Grenada Prime Minister Dickson Mitchell, Afreximbank President Prof. Benedict Oramah, and Dangote Group CEO Aliko Dangote. This high-level gathering underscores the significance of the forum, which aims to drive investment in key sectors such as tourism, logistics, agriculture, IT, energy, and the creative industries.
Over 800 delegates, including heads of state and business leaders, are expected to attend the forum. The event will provide a platform for stakeholders to explore opportunities for collaboration, trade, and investment between Africa and the Caribbean. A key objective of the forum is to advance the establishment of an Africa-Caribbean free trade area, which is expected to boost economic growth and development in both regions.
The AfriCaribbean Trade and Investment Forum has previously been held in Barbados, Guyana, and The Bahamas. The upcoming event in Grenada is expected to build on the momentum generated by previous forums, fostering greater cooperation and economic integration between Africa and the Caribbean.
