WIMCA CELEBRATES 10th ANNIVERSARY IN STYLE: Honours 50 Outstanding Women and Top Brands in Marketing and Communications

Lagos, Nigeria – December 15, 2024 – The 10th anniversary of Women in Marketing and Communications (WIMCA) was a night to remember, as 50 outstanding women and top brands were recognised for their contributions to the growth of the marketing and communications industry. The event, which was the biggest gathering of female professionals in the industry, was organised by Brand Communicator, a leading marketing and communications publication.

In his welcome address, Joshua Ajayi, Publisher of Brand Communicator and Convener of WIMCA, described the platform as a leadership initiative that provides insights and contemporary trends in engaging female consumers and recognising outstanding women and corporate organisations. Ajayi encouraged the attendees to embrace the occasion with enthusiasm and optimism, saying, “The will to win, the desire to succeed, and the urge to reach one’s full potential are the keys that unlock the doors to personal excellence.”

The award ceremony, which was the climax of the anniversary celebration, saw esteemed brands such as Flour Mills of Nigeria, Standard Chartered, NNFems, Access Bank, Wema Bank, and Interswitch, among others, honoured for their remarkable achievements and efforts in empowering women to succeed. Flour Mills of Nigeria was recognised as the Most Outstanding Food Manufacturing Company in Gender Inclusion, while NNFems won the Iconic Hair Care Manufacturing Company of the Year award.

Individuals who have made significant contributions to the marketing and communications landscape were also recognised, including Adesoji Omoigui, Nana Milagrosa, Roseline Abaraonye, and Tola Bamigbaiye-Elatuyi, among others. The top 50 most influential women in marketing communications were also celebrated, with outstanding individuals such as Omoefe Ohworakpo, Esosa Osagiede, and Chioma Igwe receiving awards for their excellent performance.

The event was a testament to the power of women in marketing and communications, and a celebration of their achievements and contributions to the industry. As WIMCA clocks 10 years, it is clear that the platform has made a significant impact in promoting women’s empowerment and recognising excellence in the industry.
