25-Year-Old Zambian Model Dies After Vomiting and Falling Unconscious Following Night Out

A popular 25-year-old Zambian model and socialite, Lisa Mutambo, has died after reportedly vomiting and falling unconscious at her residence in Lusaka’s Kalundu area following a night out with friends.

Police have dismissed early social media claims suggesting that Mutambo was beaten to death by her boyfriend, saying no physical injuries were observed on her body as investigations into the circumstances surrounding her sudden death continue.

The death was reported to Chelstone Police Station at around 09:30 hours on Thursday, August 21, 2026. Police said Mutambo is believed to have died between 03:30 and 04:30 hours at Victoria Hospital, where she was pronounced dead upon arrival.

According to Zambia Police Deputy Spokesperson Chipo Kaitisha, Mutambo spent Wednesday evening with two female friends at a hotel where she served as an ambassador.

The three women later left the hotel at around 22:30 hours and proceeded to another drinking spot in Lusaka, where they continued socialising.

Police said that between 02:30 and 03:00 hours, Mutambo’s boyfriend, identified as Caleb Lisa, also known as Andrea, arrived and picked up the three women.

He reportedly dropped off the two friends in the Minestone/Casanova area before proceeding with Mutambo to their residence in Kalundu, where the couple was reportedly staying.

Upon arriving at the residence, Mutambo allegedly began vomiting and later became unconscious.

Her boyfriend reportedly contacted a friend, who assisted in transporting her to Victoria Hospital. She was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Police officers subsequently visited and processed both the primary and secondary scenes as investigations into the circumstances of her death got underway.

Mutambo’s body was initially taken to the FSG Mortuary before being transferred to the University Teaching Hospital Mortuary, where a postmortem examination is expected to be conducted to establish the cause of death.

Police said no physical injuries were observed on her body, contradicting widespread speculation on social media that she had been assaulted.

An inquiry file has since been opened, and police say investigations are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding the young model’s sudden death.
