Ghana’s Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) has announced increments in water and electricity tariffs in the West African nation.
PURC made the announcement in a statement signed by its Executive Secretary, Dr. Dr. Ishmael Ackah, on May 31.
According to PURC, the upward adjustments in the tariffs will take effect from July 1, 2024.
PURC announced that electricity tariffs will increase by 3.45% for lifeline consumers (0-30kWh), 5.84% for other residential consumers (31 kWh and above) and non-residential consumers, and 4.92% for industrial consumers.
According to the Commission, water tariffs will increase by 5.16% for all customer classes.
