Osman Ayariga, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA) and Deputy National Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has praised President John Dramani Mahama’s government for introducing several social intervention programmes aimed at creating opportunities for young people.
Speaking at the National Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN) Conference at the University of Education, Winneba, he highlighted initiatives including No Fees Stress, the Adwumawura Programme, the National Apprenticeship Programme, the 24-Hour Economy, One Million Coders and free tertiary education for persons with disabilities (PWDs).
According to Mr Ayariga, the programmes demonstrate the government’s commitment to addressing the needs of young people through education, skills development, entrepreneurship and employment opportunities.
“President Mahama’s government is the best and has the highest number of social interventions that will favour the youth,” he said, citing the various initiatives as evidence of the administration’s focus on youth empowerment.
He urged young people to familiarise themselves with the available programmes and take advantage of them to improve their livelihoods, develop their skills and contribute to national development.
