The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has sacked Otto Addo, head coach of Ghana’s national football team, the Black Stars following four straight defeats including two recent defeats to Austria and Germany.
Ghana lost 5 – 1 to Austria in an international friendly last week. On Monday night, they lost 2 – 1 to Germany, leading to Otto Addo’s immediate sacking. They had earlier lost 1 – 0 to South Korea.
“The Ghana Football Association (GFA) have parted ways with the head coach of the senior men’s national team (Black Stars), Otto Addo effective immediately,” GFA says in a statement Monday on its website.
The GFA gave no further details on a replacement for Addo, or the reasons for sacking him.
Ghana is in Group L with Croatia, England and Panama for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. They will kick off their campaign on June 17 against Panama in Toronto.
