Ghana: Mahama Inaugurates Presidential Advisory Group on Economy

Ghanaian President, John Dramani Mahama, has inaugurated a presidential advisory group for Ghana’s economy.

The inauguration was done at the Jubilee House, the seat of government in Accra on Wednesday, February 11, 2026.

According to President Mahama, the expertise of the members of the group “spans fiscal policy, monetary management, capital markets, private enterprise, academia, and the real economy.”

President Mahama says he’s expecting “the advisory group to deliver frank, independent, and evidence-based advice anchored in our long-term national interest.”

He added “We face tough challenges ahead, including rebuilding from debt distress and restoring investor confidence. Their counsel must help us restore fiscal discipline, attract investment, and re-establish Ghana as a serious, predictable, and competitive economy.”

“This is not simply about recovery. It is about institutional reform, structural transformation, and a permanent reset of our economic governance culture.”

“This administration will work to write Ghana’s success story.”
